Equine Assisted Psychotherapy
Equine therapy clients can process those patterns, themes, behaviors, and emotions with the EAP team. By building trust with a horse and getting instant feedback from the horse on how behaviors and emotions affect another living being, clients practice relationship building skills. Developing these skills through equine therapy strengthens capacity for self-regulation to effectively heal emotional and behavioral disorders.
Horses are self-aware, resilient, and terrific at setting boundaries. Equine therapy helps clients learn these same skills by practicing relationship building with these intelligent beings. During sessions, clients are invited to take initiative, make decisions, and solve problems.
